Sweet Yvette:

Are these from your personal collection?

The Portuguese penchant for decoarting exteriors of houses with ceramic tiles -- perhaps it is of Morisco origin -- has travelled far and wide. Many houses in Goa are decorated on the outside with locally fired tiles. They look very Portuguese: blue and yellow, very understated, very beautiful yet stark and somehow full of reflection. My house in Goa, back in 2001, had such Portuguese tiles over the door. (And the windows were made of wooden slats in which flat shells were placed, a sort of mother-of-pearl lace...).

Isnt this fun, trading pictures of small beautiful objects like this?
